Buffalo Nickel ….SCORE!

VetterVetter Posts: 881 ✭✭✭✭✭

I just received an eBay auction that I won for $57 ($61 with ship). There were only 2 bids, mine and the 1st bidder. This is one of the pictures from the auction. I couldn’t really tell if the coin in the 3 leg slot was real or not. Guess what….it is! All the die markers are there. It’s only a VG but still a real 3 leg that I was fortunate no one else bid on.

There was no anticipation as I thought it was either fake or not the variety. The only other notable coin was a 1921 S in G. Most early dates were acid treated or missing. Late 20’s to the end were your typical G to F. Missing of course the 31 S. It’s a very old collection as getting the clear sleeves out was a real bugger.

WOW! And I think the 37-D Three Legger could go G-6 because of the visible date.

    I'm real happy for you.

Good eye. I'm assuming the consignor didn't even highlight the fact that this coin was included?

No mention at all of the 3 leg being in the book. The pictures were not very good either. I took a chance.

Good! There are still many bargains to be had on eBay if you know what you are looking at.
The rest of the coins in the album are probably worth more than you paid for them. And the album itself without coins has smoe value also.
