Cherry picked these Indian cents from a dealers cake pan full of them. Can’t believe I pulled 17 1909’s out.

So Frank, don’t know if you can see the dates in the big pic, so here’s a couple I enlarged
That 1872 is a good find. Nice pickin'!
Thanks, @tincup

@LanceNewmanOCC , this dealer had pans and buckets of all sorts of coins to sort through. I spent hours looking through them on 3 or 4 different occasions. And yes, she sold these at 75 cents each. I’ll post more of my recent finds soon.

The reason I pulled out the ones with common dates(1901-1908), was because they had mostly full liberty in her headband. Where do you find any of those in that condition today?
nice stuff.
Thanks for the reply

Dealer must have been asleep at the wheel to let an 1872, as well as an 1873 that nice go in a .75 tray.

Looks like you had some fun.
That must have been fun. That's a pretty nice haul.
To me, searching Junk boxes was like checking the Coin Star machine or roll hunting. Some are "meh" while others may be sprinkled with coins worth multiples of the asking price. I've found that the hardest part of junk box hunting was getting your selections past the store owner. It's best to check out with an assistant while the owner is busy.
A dealer shouldn't use a buyer's eyes to grade his own inventory. That's his job.
This is a old time dealer that will let me sit for as long as I want to look through her "junk" boxes. Can't begin to tell you all the better dates I've been able to pull out. She never looks through the stuff I buy, just adds the appropriate tax and I score.
