Electrotype value question

What kind of value does this electro have? The obverse has some interesting tripling. I may buy it but was wondering what the experts here think is a fair price for it. Thanks for any input.

i'm not your guy for pricing something like this, just wanted to say.
by tripling, you mean triple struck? BUT
i was under the impression based on the process of making electrotype, that such a thing wouldn't be possible?
I'm sorry that I do not have the knowledge to help you with the value, but I agree with Lance, to my knowledge the only way of having a tripling of the coin features for an electrotype coin is for the coin copied to have the same, so it couldn't be struck. If I'm wrong someone correct me. Does this coin have a seam that is visible enough to tell where the two pieces were joined? Here is a link to the NGC page in the electrotype coin creation technique. Good luck.

I am not the one to ask either! The seller uses the term tripled die obverse. I am unsure how that happens on an electro. I need some assistance on how it was created with that effect.
I have not seen the edge so I do not know. I am just wondering how it was made!!
Man, there are some unusual things floating around out there! No idea how to price it, but interesting nonetheless.
Here's a few selling on ebay. The 1st three are active auctions today and the last is 8 or so sold auctions in the past. Hope this helps. First I would ensure the coin was an electrotype and I'm sure someone will answer up with infor in that regards.

When the original coin was pressed into the matrix that was then electroplated, the point of the coronet was pressed in in three different places.
Not sure that this is vintage. Might be.
you see the bust was also impressed more than once.
so, then an electroplate can be multi-struck legitimately? granted it isn't actually multi-struck but just passing along whatever the mold or form or whatever has impressed into it, not too dissimilar form a die or am i completely off here?
If I wanted a good opinion, I would check with Wnuck or Kraljevich.
Yes
Interesting.... I learned something new here today.... Thanks @CaptHenway. Cheers, RickO
