Remembering my father, please post a coin.

My father passed away Sunday 9-25-2022. He didn't collect coins, but he loved when he received a half dollar or some other "odd" coin in change so we could talk about it. He would go to the bank to get 2 dollar bills to give to my children on their birthdays. He was a great man and I will miss him dearly. Please post any coin in his honor, maybe a few 1954 Franklin half dollars for his birth year.

I'm sorry to hear this.
Please accept my condolences.
I am sorry for your loss. My father passed away in 2020 at 96-2/3 years. To honor my dad, I bought one of every coin minted the year he was born. That included the 1923-S 50c as well as the 1923 $20 gold. I enjoyed putting the coins together as some were not ones I would normally collect but they reminded me of him.
Sorry for your loss.
.
I'm sorry for your loss, it is hard to go through that.
This is one of my only Franklin Halves

I'm sorry for your loss
I inherited my dad's coin and currency collection, while I kept them for a while they were mostly junk silver, so I sold them off as they didn't fit what I collected. BUT he also had currency and I kept most of the notes and while not valuable, it is one of the few things I have from him (well and some of the tools).

I’m so sorry your dad passed away. I’m sure so many positive memories will stay with you for as long as you live.
Here’s my 1954 Proof Franklin that looks like it was made yesterday. PCGS almost agrees, as they graded it PR68+CAM. CAC stickered it too.

I don’t have a coin to post but i have a story about my Pops…he was a very strict man but collected coins as a boy…he would make my brother and i pick up twigs and branches in our yard for a few hours before he would take us to our local show in downtown Portland Oregon in the early 70s…we cherished these trips to the show! He would give us 3 or 4 dollars to spend on coins we liked…i paid a dollar for a pristine 33D RED lincoln cent and remember him being upset that i paid 50 cents more than it was worth…
He loved to tell the story of finding a 1901 S 5 dollar gold “Piece” in front of the local store in his home town of Conway Washington in the late thirties…
I owe my coin collecting passion to him…
My sincere condolences to you..
Thoughts and prayers to you and your family, may you find comfort during this difficult time.

I don't have a coin from 1954. Here is my dad's coin. He passed 24 years ago about the same age as your dad (68 years old), much too young.

I don't have anything dated 1954 either, but here's a little offering of gold with a '54 date logo.
Justin,
Your dad sounds like a wonderful man. I’m truly sorry for your loss. Coin pictures forthcoming.
Peace,

Losing a parent is really hard. I'm so sorry as I know how you feel.
I was born in 1959 so it's always tough to hear someone dying so young.
In his honor, I'd like to donate it to you in remembrance. The mint mark is pretty cool too. PM me if you're interested?

So very sorry for the loss of your father. I lost mine this past June and still have tough moments. We went fishing almost every weekend and would go to at least 1 if not 2 local coins shows each month. Miss the conversations and commenting on auctions. I don't have any coins from '54 and only one Franklin so adding that photo in his honor.
