T3 $20 NEWP - the 12pc set is complete again!

ashelandasheland Posts: 23,285 ✭✭✭✭✭

As some of you may be aware, a few years ago I completed the 12 piece gold type set.
About two years ago, I got rid of the Saint Gaudens and the 1904 $20 because I didn’t want coins only worth their gold value in the set.

I wanted numismatic gold, so I sold them and let the vacancies remain until better coins came along.
Last summer I got the perfect Saint, but still needed the type 3 $20 Liberty.

Yesterday I got this one, I know, it’s the most common date, but it has the look I wanted and the grade carries enough premium that I could live with it.

I love the look of the $20 in the OGH, too!

So, how did I do?

great looking coin for just a 64, do you think your coins would garner CAC stickers?

Probably already has been tried at cac, there is enough of a premium to give a strong incentive for that.

The color of the coin is lovely but I don’t like the noise on the cheek.

Possibly, but probably not, I believe it came from an estate.
A dealer gold buyer sold it to my shop, where I quickly scooped it up. >:)

I don't have an account, so I've never sent it. Hard to say if anyone previous has sent it or not...
