(Not coin related) I achieved something great today!

I earned my driver’s license, I’m finally moving up in the world. I aced the test with the exception of parallel parking, but who’s gonna use that anyways? I just forgot to signal and look around me when pulling out. Anyways hooray for me, one step closer to freedom!

    Congrats! I remember that day. It was awesome being able to take myself to coin shops and flea markets and shows (though I still miss my dad hauling me around to that stuff, just for him to patiently stand around waiting one me).

    Luv the comment on parallel parking. Especially with these new self-parking vehicles. When my brother took his test he had to do that in a massive 1969 Cadillac Sedan de Ville. By today's standards a beast. More like an aircraft carrier on the road. I was luckier because I got to take my test in a small, early Toyota. Piece of cake.

    1960, in August, I got mine. I did the exact same, aced the test and parked the car 3 feet away from the curb. No cars, no cones, just pull next to the curb and park....I blew it.

    Well done!

    Though my drivers test was without incident, I remember it being pretty scary with the freeway section taking place on the old Los Angeles freeways and super short on-ramps.
    My poor older sister flunked her practical test due to a small collision- with, of all things, a police car!
    She’s never lived that one down 🤪

    But why so dismissive about parallel parking? 🤔 :D

    It will come in handy someday and you don't want to be the person who holds up traffic while they try to slide onto a spot. ;)

    I think, as you navigate through life, you'll be amazed how often you will 'parallel park'. I know that I am, and I've relied on it for 50 years.
