    Thanks everybody! :)

I didn't plan on buying three coins yesterday, but they were all available and like David Kahn once told me, "the best time to buy great coins is when they are available".

I've learned that you better grab them when you can! :)

That is the B-3 die marriage, R3. Same obverse die with the 1818/5 B-1. It was used later to mint B-3, but you should be able to make out traces of the 5 in the 2nd 8, but was used after lapping for B-3 so almost gone.

Amazing piece! I love the Bust Quarters and regrettably do not have an example yet, but I am working on the Open Collar Bust Dimes.

Love Bust Dimes. This is my most recent one:

Although only a Good-4 this piece cost me only $30, which I feel was a great price. Fully struck Bust Dimes are rare, most of them seem to have at least one weak spot (this one has quite a few eagle feathers for a Good-4, but this is offset by the weak rim). When you get into VG-F grades you can get really attractive coins fairly affordably, if you can find nice ones of course.

That is a very nice Bust quarter!

I have a few Bust quarters in my collection, but my main focus were the dimes. It will be interesting to follow your progress with this series.

I appreciate that, but unfortunately it's not. I needed it for my type quarters...

This is why she isn’t for sale:
Aside from a 1796, the bust quarters type set is complete.

now on to the seated quarters… B)
