Well at least they got 90 minutes to do it for ya, versus only 48 or 60 minutes.

I'd have never guessed there was betting for "shots on target."

The Broncos game looks like it could be a slaughter in the making. No great handicapping involved to envision that.

However there might be some interesting value in Broncos back-up player props for TD's, yardage, etc.

Even for the Chiefs, an obscure back-up player might score a meaningless TD late in the game at fat odds.

Missed by 1 point for a Washington cover, got 6.5 points with the over covered in my parlay. But got a parlay Washington and Minnesota over,44.5 alive. And a parlay Minnesota+6 with over 44.5.

simply amazing -- back on Dec 13 it was a foregone conclusion that OKC would shatter the regular season wins mark, and here we are less than two weeks later and they have run into a team that is about to polish them off for the 3rd time in 10 days

i knew the Spurs had talent, but i didn't see this coming.............they are ahead of schedule and serious contenders for the chip

Rough past few days for me. Got hooked on a prop bet, lost by a bucket on another. And general hiss poor handicapping. Broke even overall, only because i Martingaled the Broncos ML on a live bet. However I'm certainly not proud of that. When ya gotta Martingale just to get even, that's a recipe for disaster long term. Must do better than this. 😐

if someone had told me prior to the Det-Minny game that i could get the Lions +12 and the Vikes would have a net 3 yards passing in the game, i would have lost an amount of money that would have forced me to quit gambling forever

OKC stung me pretty game on that game. Fortunately the Broncos game pulled me out of the hole with a live Martingale.

I should know better than to fall in love with a team coming off a championship. In this day and age of incredible wealth with players, the champs at some point get full of themselves, lackadaisical, etc, and they get beat. Plus the public gets enthralled with them, and it negatively affects the betting value.

I know all this and got sucked in on that game anyway. Oh well, I escaped this time, but making too many mistakes like that, and I'll wind-up in line at the soup kitchen on South Street. LOL

we've talked ad nauseum about the volatility of pro hoops, but whenever i encounter a doozy i feel the need to share -- even if i did not have any loot on it, which in this case i did not. but i did have an eye on Denver-Minnesota late last night, and by the time the game ended my eyeball was bulging and burning.

with 5:54 left in the game, Denver was up 15

    the game went to overtime

Minnesota scored the first 9 points in OT

Denver won the game by 4

betting on NBA games is like an unhealthy relationship -- someone is getting mindf***ed on a daily basis

Only 34-0 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Now I'm beginning to worry. Is that a large enough lead? 😧

Same bet also hit in the 2Q - 10 points scored.

I would think that utilizing the .5 properly, would be the key to success in this type of wager.

Also I wonder if the under hits more often because the defenses are fresh?

Perhaps in these big games, the "brilliant" coaches come up with new plays for the offense, and the players don't execute these plays very well.

Worked as well in the 1st and 2nd quarters of the Penn State game.

Might be an interesting play, more so maybe on "bad" playoff/bowl teams. I mean with all due respect for the great football history, my alma mater Penn State shouldn't even be sniffing a bowl game this season. Only there because of the name and the money. A bit pathetic, sorry to say.

I didn't play it, but I was looking at it for that Army game.

And sure as green apples, when ya think ya may have something, already in the first Q, 14 points are scored.

Spurs losing at home 70-60 at halftime, to a team whose road record is 3-9, just sent a complaint form to the NBA commissioner, signed by every player, reading as follows:

"We all thought that since we beat OKC three straight times, that all the other teams were supposed to roll over and play dead to us?"

In all seriousness, spread now at -2.5 and ML at -186

Thinking of plowing the Spurs ML? Probably won't.

  • Options
    stevekstevek Posts: 32,415 ✭✭✭✭✭

Didn't do anything yet. Jazz now up by 16.

    Spurs now at +2.5

Dam that's tempting, but I just can't seem to do it. Probably wait until the end of the 3rd Q. and re-evaluate.

    stevekstevek Posts: 32,415 ✭✭✭✭✭

Well, already decided to just pass. Spurs certainly capable of coming back and winning this game. But just can't seem to get a good feel for it, one way or the other.
