Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.
I never knew that Post Cereal put cards on cereal boxes until 1961-1963. I would like to see the 1959 Post Cereal card…
I’d say for me; I like the 63 - 64 - 69…
Although there is a Mickey that I really like a lot and that’s a 1968 Topps Posters Box Cut Out …we all know who has one of those…

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: That 1969 Topps WL Mantle in PSA 4 belonging to Tim (see above) is one of my favorite cards of all time. I cannot believe how good that card looks for a 4, especially considering all the problems you normally see with 1969 Topps Mantle cards.

Here is my 1960 Post Cereal Mantle, autographed. It is graded a 2, I guess because of the date that is written on the back.

Yep there it is...
It is actually 1960 Post Cereal and 1959 Bazooka, not the reverse as I had mistakenly stated in my earlier post.

My list would be all Topps examples.
56 Mantle - classic card which is Uber popular and his triple crown year
53 Mantle - amazing artwork and design
60 Mantle - perfect card which captures his transition from youthful star to now starting to be a vet
65 Mantle - great color and love the pennant
57 Mantle - MVP year and virtually impossible to find centered
Aside from the usual suspects of 52T, 53T, 56T and 57T, my unique suggestion is 58T All Star. I always liked that card.
1 - 1952 Bowman
2 - 1963 Topps
3 - 1953 Bowman
4 - 1952 Topps
5 - 1951 Bowman
1956 Topps is my least favorite.....too cartoonish.

1 - 56 Topps. Love that smile, and what a catch!
2 - 54 Red Heart. Again, the smile.
3 - 58 Topps All Star. Love the design, just screams 50's Americana to me.
4 - 60 Topps. Nice pic of Mick and the colors on the card are so vibrant.
5 - 53 Bowman. So simple and that is the charm. Maybe one day I'll own one.

Six but can't cut any of those.
Outside reg issues the 58 Batting Foes and the 58 AS stand out.
If moving outside Topps and Bowman I adore the 59 Bazooka and the Dan Dee/Stahl image.
So many of the others are so close to the top 5 for me. Bottom line: love'em all. 53, 58, 58, 60, 61, 62, 65.
The only ones I don't go crazy for are 63, 66, and 67.

59 Bazooka
A year (or even 6 months) ago, I would've had something else at #5. Tim's recent featuring of his wonderful example really put that one on my radar. It's a truly gorgeous card.
Mick's a lot like Aaron, Mays and Clemente: so inherently cool and dynamic that you can't really go wrong with any choice.
1953 Topps
1952 Topps
1961 Topps
1959 Topps
1959 Bazooka

I like the 58 one with Aaron and Mantle.

I can’t resist a Mantle thread. Some people highlighted some great cards so here’s a few that were mentioned and should be seen, and to keep it fresh in posting them raw (53, 56, 60 and 63 are now graded)...

WS Batting Foes to me is the best card Topps ever made.
Topps In NL and Managers Dream had the chance - but both are meh looking.
Manager’s Dream is awesome.

Love Manager’s Dream - but imagine if it had a shot like the Foes? Mantle’s mole print defect takes away from the card a little. Working on all the 50s and 60s multi player cards with at least 1 HOFer on it. Really like all of them!

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
I know 53 topps is almost universally loved for its aesthetics, but I just never could get into that set. I guess I am not a big fan of paintings instead of photography.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Here are my five faves (that I own):
Love the three multi-player cards!
Here is my Yankees Power (need to rescan this was my old scanner as I have had this one for a while) - think I would revise my list to include this instead if the ‘53 Topps.
Mantle definitely has some great multis!

Thanks a lot, fellas. I meant to post this thank you a while ago and would be remiss if I did not say take the time to say thank you guys for your kind words. The people are just as important as the cards in the hobby, to me, so I am always really flattered when people take the time. And I have a special item coming in; can’t wait to share it in the October pickups.
And just to be clearer about my top five, the 1951 Wheaties Premium Photo is number one for me. I simply love the image.

Here’s a multiplayer featuring Mickey from Topps; though not a card, it’s got such a nice array of colors and players that I had to snag it when I saw it…
