Cooper Rush has earned a gold jacket. Jerry Jones

Yes, Cooper Rush, a fascinating player indeed. It took a lot of guts, determination, and grit to go into New York, a very hostile environment mind you, and get it done last night. It's Rush hour baby, go Cowboys!

They might be better off with Rush than Dak

Ah, don't pay no attention to the critics perk, they love to hate us when we're winning, they know who runs this town!

Dallas 23 - New York 16............................How 'bout them Cowboys!! :p

I thought the 4th quarter was good one and it took quite a while getting to it. Probably everyone should hold off on quitting on the Cowboys while they also stop crowning the Giants, it is only game three. One thing I'll say, Cooper Rush isn't as bad as everyone thinks he is, it takes a team effort to win. How often does CeeDee Lamb not catch a perfectly thrown pass like he did last night?? That wasn't Rush's fault. I figure the Cowboys have a little more time before they should start to think about a "rebuild" because they have too many good players on both sides.

Dak Prescott should probably be put in the rearview mirror, he just seems too injury prone, too delicate no matter how freakish the injury-plays are and how skilled he is as a QB. He can't help when he's on the sideline. Dallas also is in the same sweet spot as the Browns with two superior running backs. I think it might be wise to trade Elliot and keep Pollard, more value in that. They could get a decent player or two and some high picks. Elliot's a superb RB but he seems wasted in Dallas.

Last week Jerry Jones said he'd love a QB controversy. This morning on local radio he was asked about Dak's injury and his response differed a bit from his norm. He had been saying Dak would be back for the game after next. But now he was a little more hesitant to give a firm deadline.

Zeke has lost a step. He is nearing the end of his career. Alternating him with Pollard can lengthen his career. He is much better than Pollard blocking for his QB. Not a lot of trade value. Trading him would shorten Pollards career. I say leave well enough alone.

What can I say, I'm doing wonderful, how about yourself? Isn't life so much better when the Dallas Cowboys are winning football games? The answer is yes, it is.

I’m a believer. Dallas D stepped up again against Wentz and Cooper Rush was the leagues best kept secret.
The Cowboys couldn’t have ask for a better schedule for Prescotts absence.
    Struggling Bengals
Giants and Commodes door mats for ever in the NFC East. Although the Giants have shown glimmers they can’t figure out how to win against Dallas.
Gallop returned will free up Lamb and Dak can get fully healthy. They are set for another 1st round playoff loss.

Well, looks like I may have to retract my posts above regarding the relevance of the Dallas NFL team. It is official, Dallas has a serviceable qb for the first time in years, and 4 games into the season, are 26th in yards per game at 312.8, just ahead of the 0-3-1 Texans at 302.0 (LOL and no this is not sarcasm ;) ). In D, the Cowboys are giving up 308.5 yds per game, good enough to put them in 7th overall in team rankings. Oh 'boys. In turnovers they are +2 differential, also placing them 7th. Seems if they can improve their offense this year, they might have something...........

    Giddyup!

I haven't been consuming my usual amount of Cowboys media, but I still get plenty by osmosis just living around here and being in the car. There is a general feeling that has been prevalent for a few weeks, and I hope this can apply for my Pats as well.

The Cowboys are now 4-0 without Dak as the starter. But there is no QB controversy. However, there has been a shift in the direction of the offense. It has been a more run first attack. Or, should I say, more focused on scheming the run game effectively. Either way, it has been obvious that the offensive staff of Kellen Moore and his cronies put on their thinking caps with Dak out. It is the hope of Cowboys fans that they have learned a little something from this exercise. Dak needs to be schemed to be more of a bus driver if the team wants success. And I am using that term to make my point clear. Yes, it is seen as a derogatory term, but I really just mean that when Dak is putting up giant numbers the team is not necessarily getting to where they want to be.

....I'm going to have to disagree with you here.....I still think the team is better with Dak, but they need to make the play calling and scheme more Dak friendly. (this is a comment which hearkens back to Jerry saying the offense needed to be more Romo friendly many years ago).

Cooper Rush had very little to do with the win yesterday. The Rams are a shell of themselves and a good defense exposes every flaw and Stafford. The Rams can’t stop a good running team or a good passing team. Frankly they do very little right. The 49ers are the team to beat in that division and I don’t see a team close to them at this moment

Local sports media here in Cowboys country is begging the team to tweak the offense so that the run game is more of a focal point when Dak returns. The Cowboys can be an excellent running team. If they do that, and take advantage of play action, and continue playing well on defense, this is their best recipe for success imo.

Yes, I love it, life is about Cowboys football and nothing else. As far as Cooper Rush goes, everything just seems to work out for us when he's in charge, he's my good luck charm, and I'll protect him with my life.

@doubledragon Alright Mustache Jerry, you say "life is about Cowboys football and nothing else". You are on the record in the past as saying that Jerry the owner will never fire Jerry the GM. So if you are unwilling to put a real general manager in charge of the team, will you at the very least make a commitment, both publicly and in actuality, to step down from all of your other business interests and focus entirely 100% on running the Cowboys?

We'll see, but I'm not promising anything. Until then, just try to enjoy Cowboys football, it's a great time to be a Dallas fan.

Some very interesting developments in the NFL thus far and that's being led by the Dallas Cowboys and the rest of the NFC East. Actually, the AFC East has been sort of surprising the past couple of seasons and it's almost like an NFL power change is taking place. It wasn't too long ago that the NFC East couldn't even provide a conference champion above .500 and no matter how good the rest of the AFC East played they could never catch the Patriots.

This season may actually have a three-horse-race in each of those divisions and an eventual Super Bowl Match-up.

  • thisistheshowthisistheshow Posts: 9,386 ✭✭✭✭✭

Bills have the AFC East locked down. And I don't see the Eagles or Giants getting to a SB. You never know.

Don't get me wrong, Dak is probably better than Rush but something can be Said about doing enough to win where Rush has done both that and not made stupid mistakes.

If it's not broke don't fix it, I swear I'd trade Dak for picks or a savage OL and go with Rush

There were very few penalties called in the Cowboy/Rams game. The refs just let 'em play. There were several flagrant pass interference penalties by both teams that were not called.......It started with a non-call that most likely cost the Rams a touchdown..... Then the Rams defenders went into payback mode against the Cowboys recievers. But the Ram defenders weren't penalized either. As Insider Source said during the game, "They can't call those plays now against the Rams......it would look to suspicious.....they're just going to let 'em play."..........The most obvious non-call happened right in front of me. A Ram defender clearly roughed up the Cowboy receiver and there was no flag.....If the penalty had been called the Cowboys would have been in chip shot field goal range and they could have even scored a touchdown!... They were on the move.....The Cowboys did not score on that drive. The refs saw what they wanted to see.....It worked both ways,...for both teams.

Yup. I agree. I looked at their OL and DL, cream puff schedule and picked them to win the East.
Also placed a $100 futures bet on over 8 wins.

Afternoon, and Happy Halloween. I see you are enjoying my blind referee costume, I'm happy to entertain you. Look, I know you're a Patriots fan, but I also know you're a Texan, and you listen to me on the radio. Might I make a suggestion, why don't you forget about the Patriots and become a full-time Cowboys fan, we need all the support we can get, I've converted doubledragon into a Dallas fan, heck, he doesn't even remember who the Panthers are anymore, and he couldn't be happier, because his new team is winning football games every weekend. I've also taken part-time control of DD's Collectors Universe account, so I can spread the word about the Cowboys and their greatness, he's asleep right now on the sofa, he ate a full bag of Cheese Doodles and watched a VHS about the 1993 Cowboys season. So, please think about my proposition, come join us thisistheshow, come over to our side.
