Help identifying the year of a sealed ASE monster box

I bought a sealed West Point ASE monster box without the year indicated on the outside of the box. There is a five-digit number in black marker on the box that I believe should contain the answer if I can find the decoder ring. Anyone know where I can find that info?

Is there a premium for sealed boxes? I wonder why you don't just open it.

What is your 5 digit number? That may help.

I just checked all of mine, and there is a number in black marker on the top but I think that is a number that the mint put on to keep track of the box. Mine also have a sticker on the ends of the box that has the year.
I don't think that number is going to help with the year
    Good luck

I think you are probably right, but I figured I'd take a shot.

May I ask where you got it?

If it is from the Mint, it should have a label. If not from the mint - and no label - I would question the 'sealed' status. Cheers, RickO

    Excellent call Ricko.
I’d be opening that puppy right now. Visions of bricks taped together flashing in my brain. Hopefully not but curious that there’s no identifiable markings. 😉🦫🙀

Wasn't the date heat-stamped on the white strapping??

They're from the year 25411. Should be quite a premium on those, hard to acquire

Most have a sticker with a barcode and the date like this

if the stickers were removed, probably the most common least expensive one.

the handwritten numbers are mint internal control numbers and because of their low number of digits do not give clue to the year of the coins.

    Clue to the handwritten numbers.

    Subsequent info from the mint.

what is the round sticker on the box and does the label on the shipping box give any clues/dates? I have purchased a number of boxes and have never received one without the "date sticker." Your box and straps look authentic, likely the stickers were removed, particularly if you purchased it from a third party and not from an authorized purchaser.

The premium for a strapped box is minimum and your buyer will likely be asking for a quantity discount. Odds are you will sell contents off over time which justifies opening the box.

What are you gonna do with those? Save em, sell em?

I like sealed monster boxes for stashing away, so I will probably sell them.

Fresh rolls from 2010 should get a small premium. Nice that you have some matching documentation now. Good luck.
