Not a GTG, just want to share. I was very happy to win this classic $2.5 from the recent sale of the Virginian Collection at Stacks.
This is one of those coins that is tough to capture in pictures. Semi prooflike, great luster and color. Looks wonderful in hand but the photos don't fully capture the character. Here is the trueview and my first shots.
I am very happy with the purchase. An excellent addition to my gold type set. And yes, for me this is a type coin but interesting to note that it is the only HM-5 variety designated by PCGS.
And Kudos to the registry set team at PCGS, this coin number (as a variety) was not in the composite for my type set, and with an email the issue was resolved within a couple of hours. THANKS!
Lastly my cat was also very excited about the newp!

Great looking coin. Congratulations. Had fun DMing with you during the auction. I would have loved to get one of the Virginians coins. After all, @Ronyahski wrote the book on Classic Head gold. A great reference that I always recommend to collectors.

Playing around with the camera tonight. Here is a try with axial lighting. Pretty different.
I think I need to figure out how to get really good coin videos. I've been utterly unsuccessful with video so far.

I like it; seems a very reasonable (affordable) acquisition given the condition, CAC approval (AU58 with CAC is very nice), and general PCGS price guide/survival estimates.
Maybe we should start submitting our coins to the OP for a CAT sticker?

Russian Blue?
Winnie is a rescue cat that we adopted a couple of months ago. She is a pretty blue cat with some subtle stripes on tail and legs. Will have to get some "cat approved" stickers made up! She isn't too picky though.
