USCG 1 OZ medal available 9/26

It is available on 9/26 for $65.00. Also eligible for enrollment according to US mint web site. See them advertised on Ebay for $90.00 presale, less if you buy a quantity. Web site said no limit but that is what they said for the USAF 1oz medal (web site still shows USAF has unlimited mintage - I think USAF is limited at 75,000).

Since this medal is undated, if there is unsold inventory, will the mint continue to sell it after 12/31/22 until any unsold inventory is gone?

I like the design on the Coast Guard medal... I did not like the reverse of the Navy medal. Will wait and see what the one ounce will be. Cheers, RickO

    Ricko
I didn’t look closely at the Navy reverse. Your spot on. The obverse is really amazing but the reverse just doesn’t make sense. But that’s probably not going to stop me from adding one to the series.
The Space Force is what I’m waiting to see. I hope it’s not too star trekky but their insignia is mighty close.
    We’ll see 😁

Now open for purchase from the mint. It will be interesting to see if the medal goes unavailable.

I just ordered one. High price but since I have the Air Force medal I might as well buy this one.

Yes, $65 for 1 oz of silver is quite high. But I think these (all branches) will still appeal to ex-military or military buffs.

My order just changed to shipping method usps. Usually a sign it’s getting ready to be sent out 😁

Yep, I see your package right there - lower left - has your name on it I'm sure!

I think the guy just put your label on it! Any day now! o:)

That’s very close to the image I have in my mind of how it works 😁

Went to check my order this was posted. If the silence I’m hearing from the formites ( crickets, I’d say) is an indication of little to no interest, then what are they doing?😂

I have noticed the same message on the days a popular item is released. I think it is system overload.

When I click on the order number, it simply goes back to the same page and does not provide additional information. Any one able to get additional info when clicking on order number?

Mint indicated enrollment shipped. Also charge showed up on CC. It must be on the way.

My enrollment shows processing but still no email. I was in on these when enrollments first became available. I like the email confirmation but the USM seems to be shaky on these the last few releases. They use to come overnight before the release, otherwise I feel the need to order and then refuse delivery if both ship.

I got the email around 5PM on 9/26. Check your CC. If the charge shows, I think your medal will be in the mail

Here’s mine. Fabulous circular luster almost perfect circle around the ship. Looks good both sides 😁

I like it. 13,661 sold through 10/2. someone bought. Since there is no date on the medal, will the mint continue sales after 2022 if supply still available?

  • Jzyskowski1Jzyskowski1 Posts: 6,650 ✭✭✭✭✭

Good question. Perhaps as they are part of a set or group of similar issues.

This subscription of mine arrived on Friday, September 29, the quickest any enrollment from the mint has arrived. I also got the Air Force medal, so four more to go in 2023 and 2024. So far, a beautiful set of medals.

I also purchased the Navy and Marine Corps medals in the 2.5 ounce version.

The Coin and its buyers have just taken on the subtle aura of the military branch that it represents.

The Coast Guard just does what needs to be done and waits for the next task at hand.
Look at the incredible service it has done recently, as represented in the main stream media, in responding to Hurricanes in Puerto Rico & Florida. The Coast Guard just gets it done when things are needed to be done. They have the authority to just respond to natural disaster and they just do and not ask for any recognition. The press, recently, has highlighted the impressive job they do to remind us all of the impact our tax dollars do in that organization. All the while, they still have their military responsibility, their law enforcement (drugs, terror watch, etc.) responsibility, their environmental response responsibility, their rescue responsibility and all the other jobs Congress has given them that they do every day and no on really notices.

I believe most silently like the coin...as they do the service it represents!

Oh, BTW, I like my Coast Guard coin!

    o:)
