Another Ike question

I bought this 1971-D ike the other day but it has something strange going on. On the obverse from about 3 to 5 o’clock there’s a disproportion of the height in the metal. The portion near the rim is lower than the the rest of the coin. Really easy to see when you use a loupe hopefully you can see it in the photos. Thanks for any help!

Edit: Took better photos!

I cannot see what you reference on those pictures. Obviously PCGS did not detect an anomaly when they graded the coin. Cheers, RickO

Posted better photos now hopefully! Anyone know if this is normal on an ike? I might sell this in the future do you think this is something I need to describe in a listing that would help or hurt the coin?

You got screwed the coin you bought was a 1972-D, but the coin you received was a 1971-D

I agree, looks like a ridge ring beginning from die deterioration. That's a big coin being struck that builds up heat on the dies causing deformations.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Still can’t find any similar images but I did see a penny that had ridge rings looked kinda similar.

@Reclypso .... Definitely looks like die erosion. No numismatic premium. Thanks for the further pictures. Cheers, RickO

The orange peel effect evident to the inside of the ridge is indicative of a die that's at the end of its life and/or the fact the graders didn't call it out would make me think it's a natural effect of the minting process.
