Shillings, halfpence, threepence, farthings, Spanish Reales, and these were found in his pocket by Martha apparently won in a card game:
Now wait a minute, definitely not the pictures shared
Washington carried the coins that circulated in America at that time. Given that he was a man of means, most of those were probably Spanish Empire silver, but English and French plus other European coins were mixed in too. He had some gold, but my perception is that he would have carried very little or none of it under a regular basis.
He also had some state or colonial colony paper money, if it was worth anything. During the Revolutionary War, he would have had Continental Currency, but that became virtually worthless by the end of the war.
George Washington died on December 14, 1799 so I'm sure he also carried some coins struck by the US Mint. I like coins struck in the 1790's because of the possibility that they may have been carried by George Washington and the other founding fathers.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

We know this one was carried by Thomas Jefferson, probably on his coach ride to Monticello in mid summer 1792.
Sorry, I was just joking with you! Except for the Spanish Reales and Pence and Farthings, say....maybe he had one of these in his pocket!!!
