2 Pennies worth grading submissions or not?

I have a 1957D looks to be an error with the strike on the rim, and a 1943S in very good shape. Just trying to get an opinion if anyone thinks they’re worth submitting for grading for auction later? I’m new to the coin collecting please be easy on me!

The 57-D is damaged. It looks like it was removed from one of those Lucky penny encased cents. The 43 isn't worth the grading and shipping fees
Welcome to the forum. Neither coin is worth getting graded. The 57D is just damaged and not an error of any kind. @JasonMFNG

Here on my end, the 1957 looks like post mint damage. The 1943 looks plated, also considered damage

I can't tell if it's plated from the photos, but it has circulation wear and is worth less than a quarter.
Welcome to the Forum... I wish we had better news for you. The '57 is PMD and the '43 is either plated or has something on the surfaces that make it look odd. Neither coin is worth the grading fees and shipping...

Both coins combined are worth less than a dollar. It is up to you to decide if you want to sink $50 or so into getting them certified, but I would suggest to save your money. Buy a Red Book or go to a local library or large book retailer and read one for free. You only need a new Red Book once every decade or so.

@JasonMFNG do the comments in this thread surprise you? How much did you think they were worth? How much did you think it would cost to submit them for grading?
I wish that we could get that info from all posts like this. If we could figure out how people are getting confused, we might be able to do something about it.
Sorry your feelings got hurt by my post? Geez
But thanks to everyone else for the great info!

Sometimes the damage is not quite so extensive around the rim, but here is an extreme example that is close to the OP's.
That was certainly helpful! Thanks for the lesson! Happy to keep learning!
I don’t know where you got the idea that there were any hurt feelings. @jonathanb appeared to be trying to understand what your thoughts were when you stared this thread and what they were after you received replies. There are a great many somewhat similar threads started here and he tries to elicit feedback from posters such as yourself, that can be used to help others.
