In any denominations, which area were you most successful in?
Sorry, "Varieties" can be placed in the "Other" category.

    Silver Finds

Mainly because I do not have the patience to search anything besides half dollars. I haven't ordered a box in years though.

Hands down W quarters. After years of suffering through this hobby/addiction with little to show for it and seeing the coins on this forum I know I could never own, I finally got a little lucky. I was just in the right place at the right time.

    Silver Finds

Silver. It's how I started getting hooked in the hobby. I had sold a few rolls, but most I have kept.
The first pic is from 2020 and my current amount of silver then. Add on the silver jackpot from the end of last year 2021 in the second/third photos, is around the total amount I currently have. There's like 5 rolls of '67's and 4 rolls of '68's. Nearly 3 rolls of '64 90%ers. Would be fun to pull everything out for another group picture soon.

Most 90% silver has been plucked from the system.

That might be true but my experience says people are and continue dumping/spending silver back into the system, not knowing what they have.

I ask myself if all the silver we have been finding, has actually been floating around out there in circulation undetected for 60, 70 or 80 years.

No, 90% silver finds today are mostly coming from a dead grandma's collection or a broke smoker breaking into his silver pile for another pack of smokes. This is what the silver CR hunter is hoping for.

Metrics is not really the right word.
    Metrics implies a quantity measurement.

Here you are surveying categories where people have had success.

No way! In my opinion, the silver that's found today. Is from the people in desperation for cash and/or oblivious about the Silver?
In today's world, esp with us crazy coin roll hunters! Any bank boxes would hardly survive for any length of time from being cracked open!

    Brilliant Uncirculated

My answer was easy...because I search a whole lot of fresh vendor rolls, fresh vintage vendor rolls, and U.S. Mint rolls

A nice one I pulled from a roll earlier this year (the Official CRH thread folks already got to see this one)

Yes, that's my point. Coming from dead grandma's collection or a broke smoker breaking into his silver pile. The point is, the silver is finding it's way back into circulation and hasn't been floating around out there in circulation undetected for 60, 70 or 80 years.

finding its way back to teller tills is not quite the same as "back into circulation." Most tellers are likely by now to be versed in 90% and are likely holding it for themselves or their customers. Silver hunters are also on top of inquiring about any halves that have made their way back to the bank. For quarters, I have searched hundreds of boxes over the last three years and found only one 90% quarter actually in circulation. I cannot speak of dimes, but I suspect the story is the same.

Doesn't "Quantity" count in the amount of coins found in each category, where somebody is most successful?
    I have found 145 W's Quarters.

Well, I suppose it's a difference of opinion. Always good to have a debate. Any silver coin I can get anywhere for face value, whether it's a 7/11, gas station, grocery store, from rolls in boxes or looking over the counter and seeing a silver edge on a quarter or half dollar in a tellers tray, is considered in circulation for me.

The tellers I have gotten silver from (and there have been quite a few over the years) are obviously not versed in 40 or 90% silver and don't know what they are handling. You're preaching to the choir on this one.

But you're right, finding silver in boxes of quarters hasn't been easy on my end.
