Haha, it’s pretty crusty. Played with the light and these were the best of the lot. If anyone knows of any good threads on proper photography, I’m all ears ;-). And ya, keep guessing.
Wow... that is tough... In hand, one could turn it, get better lighting... I will say either mid AU or low MS... How's that for commitment?? Cheers, RickO
Graded MS63, but today appears close to Env Damage for terminal toning on obv. If that can dip out without leaving dark shadows can be a nice coin but I would be afraid to take that chance.
This has been informative and it’s apparent to me now that I’ll have to sell this one in-hand vs with picture over the internet. Thanks for all the guesses. It’s an MS 66 in an old NGC holder. Has a very appealing combination of toning and luster, which was drew me to purchase it from a trusted local dealer.
Deeply toned Walkers are not often photogenic. My initial reaction was I would like to see it in hand as toned Walkers were what I sought when I collected them. At 66, there must be significant luster.
JBN knows toned Walkers and I probably would have agreed with his 63. An interesting post.

if you're gonna do GTG (we pretty much all like them around here), you're going to need to do a photo thread with advice to improve the images. you may not be too far away from good images. like most of the time, it is probably a lighting issue. whether not bright enough, wrong angle, not enough etc.
i'd start with some blast white coins and then go from there.
Please do not feel discouraged based on the responses. Coin photography is a challenge and trying to get the right image of this coin matches about the chances of being struck be lightning. "The look" needs the right images to capture the essence of the coin... your images were just not the images required for those that appreciate "the look" to offer an opinion to get into the appropriate realm for this coin. I will write that the coin is special... and perhaps very special... and that explains my response as to your initial question.
If you bought this for resale- let me be blunt in that in needs to go the the right auction house that can produce justice for "the look".

It's like trying to grade apples under a pie crust... I'll take a stab at AU50.
63?

ED at this point. I have seen Bust halves like that graded MS, and had a few myself that dipped out.
Trying to GTG kind of hurts my eyes. I'll say AU53
I imagine you truly mean guess the grade!

Somewhere between 53 and 63, let’s go with 55.

There seems to be detail in the head, hand, and skirt lines, plus underlying luster. I'll go with AU55.
All joking aside, I believe the coin has luster throughout underneath the toning and it appears to likely be MS (or very dang close to it).

Now that is a tough one! I'll go 58
Collector, occasional seller
62
MS64. I’ve seen a few like that one but it’s still a wild guess.
Coin Photographer.
58…but those pics are not great…so who really knows!
I'll guess 55. Really hard to tell from those pics.

need to see in hand to offer a reasonable opinion

AU 55, there is light wear on the high point of the eagle's left wing. It's gorgeous ; dipping would ruin it, like is does for every other coin.
Wow, what a tough GTG!
63
Super difficult with the images provided... I'll go with 55 as well...

Around the periphery, esp on the reverse, a lot of very dark toning remaining which may mean that a dip has already been tried. Not 100% but probable.
Leave it. It won't get better.

The striking detail is also quite strong for a 29-S where there’s typically substantial variation in striking quality.

It probably turned in that old NGC holder, not necessarily a 66 anymore
