Could this be a wrong planchet? The color was so different so I pulled it aside to weigh it. Help on this would be great! Here is a color comparison

    Weight is within tolerances. Coins end up discolored all the time for any number of reasons.

    The spec range for a cent is 3.11 gms +/- 0.13 gms, so your coin is normal weight

    Grind it down a little further and it'll be 2.5 grams.

    They do get lighter as they wear down
