I'm enjoying my new Wong quite a bit
Unintentional click-bait title lol.
I bought a proof set early on of the Women's Quarters because I really wanted a sense of what the business strikes will be like to search...But this proof is absolutely gorgeous.
I am absolutely loving how totally different her portrait and the industrial feeling design is compared to pretty much any other U.S. coin.
I'm also sticking with my original prediction that this Anna May Wong (and the Wilma Mankiller) will be the toughest ones to find in amazing MS conditions.
Now I'm really excited to get my hands on some fresh rolls (also probably a mint roll or two knowing me lol) when they're released for circulation in October!

Nothing Wong with that!😂🤣
When I told @winesteven that I picked up this coin, he told me he picked the astronaut one.
So while he picked up the Ride one, I had picked the Wong one 😜

If loving her is wong, I don't want to be right.....
Don't buy another one, because two Wong's don't make a wright...
Just so you know... It takes two Wong's to make a Ride one!

Not something I want to have Heather talk to me about.
This thread is taking us down the wong path.

I guess you can be either Ride or Wong about it.

My Wong is too old to enjoy anymore.
I'll just hold my old wong.

Why do you think it will be harder to find amazing MS conditions of Wong and Wilma? The design?

Well the Wilma has a few challenges happening...There is the empty field around the entire design (similar to the obverse) which gets all chattered up...then there's that star with all the high relief smooth surfaces and sharp angles that takes hits immediately. Also her traditional shawl is a big smooth area around her shoulder and bust that also takes on chatter and hits due to being part of the highest relief. Her face too!
The Anna has just a ton of top of the relief areas...every single rivet, her face, her hand, those long smooth dividing lines and even the lower relief fields in between those bars and rivets, and the all the lettering. This coin is almost all high points to get dinged up...not much of the design is actually protected when it's sitting on/with other coins.
CRH Challenges accepted!

Actually, I like this one. The first of the series that I find attractive. I will get a good one and self slab it. Cheers, RickO
Best design of the series so far . . . slightly reminiscent of the Art Deco designs with a modern twist.
