Spanish silver coin as already stated that was struck at the Mexico City Mint as indicated by the M with a smaller O on top mintmark. I don't see the denomination on the coin since it's worn off but the size should tell you the denomination. These coins actually circulated in the US and were legal tender until 1857.

Where do you see that? I looked and could not find 2R or 4R or any other indication of value.

Indeed it is Spanish silver
Two reales. Says right on the coin.
Pretty sure it’s a coin.

Doesn't say anything - you have to read it!
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
I can't really see that but I'll take your word for it.
2 reales equaled 25 cents. It's where the expression "two bits" meaning a quarter comes from.
"2 R"
That darn 2 is hard to read when the lower part is so worn.

Thank you, everyone! Wish it looked as good as that one..a history lesson is quite valuable, thanks again
Worth just a bit more than bullion.
Someone on the Forum has a pile of old foreign silver that includes coins like this. It's a great little pile of treasure.
Enjoy it for what it is. And if you decide to wear it on a necklace the hard part is already done.
Get a shave and a haircut with it.
Old, circulated, Spanish silver.... What tales it could tell... Cheers, RickO
one never stops learning around here, its a good thing
