Foreign substance in mint roll

Greetings! Today I opened a 1963 Lincoln cent original mint roll. Other than 49 lower bu coins (a lot of carbon spots) and one possible 66/67 piece, I noticed a clear jelly like substance on a few of the coins. On one coin in particular, a glop covered about 10% of the obverse. It had the consistency of grease and wiped away easily. I'm really fascinated with this. Does anyone have any thoughts on this. I regret not taking any pictures. Kindest regards!!!

The mint is a high speed, high volume manufacturing facility, even back in 1963. Equipment needs lubricated regularly. It sounds like grease got onto some coins after they were struck on there way to, while in the hopper, or during the bank rolling process. I would not consider this an error
@ms70slapshot .... Welcome aboard. Certainly not a mint error, and a quick bath in acetone will remove the substance. Good luck in your searches. Cheers, RickO
