Perry Mason is one of my favorite series. I watch it most every night on MeTV even though I have all the episodes on DVD. The interesting thing about the treatment of this numismatic related episode is how they had the actors handle the very rare/valuable coins with their fingers, rubbing them and even flipping them in the air casually as if they were pocket change. I suppose it was because it allowed the audience to more closely see the coins, don't know.
It amazes me that these old TV programs are still available and watched. I watch very little TV...and never any series. I say never.... not in the last thirty years anyway. Just too many other things to do that interest me. Cheers, RickO
Yes. I love the Mason episode with the Confederate half. Especially the part where Paul drake spends it on a pack of smokes. Unfortunately a bat got into my daughters bedroom about ten minutes into the show and the evening took a hard left.
I occasionally watch Perry Mason when I can't find anything else to watch. However I will have to start checking the TV Guide on my phone to see what episodes he might have like this. Thanks I didn't know this episode was ever made.

One of the other coins mentioned was a 1884 Trade Dollar with chop marks.
