1916-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar NEWP
Haven’t bought much of anything lately. However, this caught my eye so I picked it up last weekend. These don’t come around often in any grades. This one is a crusty VF35 with a bit of luster coming through in the right light.
Fox said not hard to find in VF when the book was written. I say it’s pretty darn hard to find in VF with good originality and eye appeal for the grade. 4 or 5 examples, very nice coming up in the Heritage sale, but above the grade I was looking for.

nooice !
Only 508,000 minted. That is a very desirable coin. You did good to scoop it up, and it looks great.

I love it!

The adjective “crusty” is often misapplied to coins posted on this forum. THAT, is a great, crusty coin!

Nice! I have been looking for one of those as well.
That's a great looking coin, and almost a twin to my 16-S, also a P-35.
The finish on the fields of the first issues lends a wonderful look to circulated issues.
Congratulations on your beautiful example.
Very nice - I love it!
An interesting date.
Relatively common in low grades, not scarce in higher grades; I’ve owned a number of XF/AU coins over the years. But VF is tough! I once had two fellows with that grade on their want list. In about a year’s time, I found one that was a true, problem free VF.
So nice and so close to ef, nice coin. Also there are two mint mark styles, a blob s and a better defined s. Yours is the more desirable clear one

Awesome coin!
Early Walking Liberty Halveswith that look and in that grade are a real find!
I like your coin pictures a lot better than the TV. Wow, what a difference!
WLH's are a favorite of mine - once common in change, they are a beautiful example of what American coinage should be. Great art and theme. Cheers, RickO
That is a nice original midgrade example!
Nice!
Much nicer than my VG & F
BHNC #203
Nice one.
Appears close to EF40 grade.
Sure does, Dan.
I think it deserves a Greenie Stickum Cap .
