@Owlx ... It appears to be mica infused quartz....more pictures, not quite so close would help. Cheers, RickO
If you take any pics any closer we could taste it.
Maybe pyrite on quartz?
@AUandAG has a good idea as well.... certainly could be pyrite. Cheers, RickO
State dependent. Looks like SC quartz/pyrite matrix. Hard to tell from pics though.
Nice find there’s a lot of mineralization in those specimens.Get yourself a rock crusher and pan it out.
I found a few myself!
It's called fools gold for a reason. Good luck. Peace Roy

Pretty rock.... Iron pyrite... Cheers, RickO
Ok ? Does Iron pyrite pass a continuity test
@Owlx ... Do you mean does it conduct electricity? Resistance measurable with a meter? If so, yes. Cheers, RickO
Pyrite will not complete a circuit.or we would be using it like copper I agree that you can get a measurement of ohms from pyrite and if it really smart like me u can do the math and compare values to that if gold and get a clue as to it's real or not 5 % or less I's gold
