An esoteric question. Are there two types of PCGS Classic Green Boxes?

Are there two varieties of green PCGS slab boxes? I never thought so, but I was looking to add a couple to my collection.
I came upon what appeared to be two shades of green boxes. No, I'm not talking about the newer mint-colored boxes, but the classic boxes PCGS stopped making many years ago.
Here are two examples. If there are two shades of these green PCGS boxes, this is new information to me, and I've never been aware it was ever a topic.

Yes. Wasn't the mint green one a limited time issue a couple years ago?
Why not put the question in the thread title?
Seems like people love to create click bait. It would be much easier for everyone if they knew what a thread was about before they clicked on it.
Probably not intentional. Maybe different suppliers, or no exact specification for the exact shade of green, so the color of the plastics were different.
I have no problem with "click bait".
I only remember one green classic box, but you’re right…the second box looks lime green. Maybe stored in a sunny room and has faded a bit?

you have a counterfeit, notice the different type style?
just kidding
That is a terrific point, and I have edited the thread title to match your request.

I am aware of that one. It is a much lighter shade of minty green.
On a side note: perhaps we need a "Museum of PCGS Slab Boxes" like we do PCGS slabs!

They reissued green boxes a few years back. Likely accounts for the different shades.

Great information. Thanks! I was not aware.

The plastic mix can vary unless very very specific about it -- color shades can vary as a result from run to run.
Along with other possibilities, perhaps some of these faded over time from sunlight or incandescent light.

I like your thinking other than the color is much lighter and is even on all sides of the box, including the bottom and the inside.

Maybe some are artificially toned?

I have a lot of green boxes... Never noticed different shades of green. However, they are all in one cardboard box, so I should probably look - some have been in there for several years. Will check later. Cheers, RickO
I have a dark green and a very light green that was released for the PCGS 35th Anniversary

Correct, I got a couple myself - I think it was part of a quarterly special promo, around 2017 or 2018

Why don’t you email PCGS and ask them?
