How many cracks?

1946Hamm1946Hamm Posts: 779 ✭✭✭✭✭

I have tried to count the die cracks on this quarter and am having a hard time. I could use some help. Open in a new window or blow the pic up to help. Should be able to enlarge it a bunch to count them. Thanks

Have a good day, Gary

    Very cool coin.

    First try: 28.
But if I did it more carefully by marking each one, the number could easily change.
Also, if there were more photos with different light angles, it might be possible to see that some of the cracks are connected,
    which would affect the count.
Is there a reason that you need an exact count?

Way too many for my bad eyes to see and count. An amazing coin!

I know exactly how many, the most I've ever seen, that's how many. Great looking coin, would love to have the die.

When blown up there are 66 individual die cracks on this coin. It is amazing that this coin has such a strike as this. Full head and all with the die in this condition. I wonder what die prep was missed to cause this failure.

That quarter is awesome! I could never figure out the number of cracks on it.......Probably because I'm just a simple guy......a plumber.

I'd love to see a later die state coin from that die. Would be neat if it developed multiple cuds before they tossed it out.
