Has anyone else ever got set to order to discover they don’t take PayPal on the day of release. I called em and they said that is their deal. Option for PayPal opens 24 hours later.
What the heck. They don’t mention that anywhere in their product list or payment options. I checked last night at11 and PayPal was there. Today gone.
I have so many words to say but they will just get me banned.
Carted one, maybe tomorrow. Dang it!! 🤨🙀🦫

IIRC, this has happened with other releases.

The Mint, of course, can determine their PayPal policy.
    That said, they have. Link

Nowhere does it indicate that you will not be able to use PayPal on release day.

There are limitations specific to adding PayPal as a new payment method during "high-volume drops". But even during "high-volume drops", it explicitly states that existing PayPal methods will be honored.

    Good luck tomorrow. :)

    Edited to correct typos.

Well I phoned them back and they lied and lied and lied until I read them their policy. Then it changed to sorry and right back to lies again. I had them look it up.
Had them read it. Then the story changed to she doesn’t make policy and can’t change policy. Ofcourse she can’t but she can read their lies and claim there true but can’t acknowledge her mistake. 🤨🙀🦫

Thank you for making the rep aware of the 'disconnect' between policy and practice. :)

Hopefully he, or she, will start the process of updating the policy.

I wouldn't come down too hard on the worker bees. It stems from management and operations.

Hard to tell how many levels above the contact person but its a govt operation so I would say a few.

I really like this medal and can't wait to get it. I received the shipping e-mail yesterday. The Mint is supposedly sending this Priority Mail.

The sad part is, they (Mint) literally bring the angst and teeth gnashing upon themselves with miscommunications & not having long-standing practices and clearly defined policies; policies that ALL of their CSR's should know. If they don't know, they should not be allowed to answer a call without complete guided training.

I’m wondering if the Mint held some of these back to spread it out over a few days so they won’t all get zapped up by flippers. It’s a bit unusual that several thousand would be available each day. Whatever….whoever wants one should have no trouble getting one.

In spite of all the issues with the Mint, they did a super job with setting up all the enrollments on the hot issues. This way, we can all sit back and relax while getting what we want without having to deal with the quick sellouts on release day to the flippers and their bots. Since the fiasco with the 2021 Morgan and Peace dollars, I have had no trouble getting whatever I want at the Mint.

Lot of ebayers paying $100-$120 for these because the Mint is playing hide and seek with this issue.
They could have got them for $75.

It's getting harder to sell these. Flippers must not see a market for these. They are breathing a sigh of relief that they were able to cancel their orders before they shipped. Cancel , Cancel, Cancel. Everybody is happy now.

@$100 on EBay, there’s no $$ to be made here. Personally I love the design - I think a lot of collectors will really enjoy this issue. I’d like to see more Americana designs on future releases.

This one is available, but it is 3K

I kinda like the gold version, and its not a medal ($100), its been growing on me. Wish I had the $$$$ to get it when offered, but 2021 had too many other things going on with the mint.
Edit - I like the eagle more than the bronc, actually. Wish they used THAT for the redesign of the AGE.

The gold is nice, but I prefer the silver. Much more affordable, too.

  • SPalladinoSPalladino Posts: 889 ✭✭✭✭✭

My order just arrived today - beautiful. A bigger diameter than the gold coin, with more open fields (being a medal).

I have the gold, and bought 3 of the silver that arrived today. The gold is breathtaking, my wife bought one also. She passed on the silver, but I really like them.

  • JeffMJeffM Posts: 587 ✭✭✭✭

My silver medal came today. Very nice! And the case is terrific. Bigger than other cases, and it has a soft leather look and feel.

Just ordered these Thursday, can't believe it's here already, that's four days from ordering to in hand- never had anything get here that fast from the mint.

Sending these Priority Mail certainly helped. Got here in 2 days.

I also just received the three I ordered very fast. One of them might be a 70, so I have that ready to mail tomorrow along with an Air Force, and Fillmore which also came very fast. They do really look quite nice overall.

  • MilesWaitsMilesWaits Posts: 5,392 ✭✭✭✭✭

Thank you for sharing your pictures, please keep them coming - gold and silver!
Mine are slated to arrive today at my post office box.
Someday I’ll put my big boy trousers on and get the Gold Bronco.

I wondered if they held back some, but don't think they'd held back 25,000. I like it. I got 2 and will keep them. Just wish I had the gold to go with it.

    Don't quote me on that.
