Proof like Delaware quarter?

Well laundry is part of my duties now that my knees are going bad and had to retire early. Lol So I got this 99' Delaware D mint quarter in the change machine. At first I it was a proof that someone circulated until I seen the mintmark. We're there any prooflikes out there? Just an extra shiny quarter? The last pic shows reflection of my hand when I took the pic. I can't remember if these just had a brilliant strike to them when minted. Just curious!

Just a thought but it looks like it could be one of the QVC plated specials. Can you see the copper core on the edge?

You may be right. I put a loupe to it but really can't determine if plated. No copper on edge showing though.

Yep, it was plated after it left the mint. That's why you can't see the copper core along the edge, and the coin has that "too shiny" appearance. Still a cool find IMO

Sounds good. Was gonna just throw it in the dryer slot. Lol Guess I'll keep it.

Just to confirm, if the coin wasn't plated yet had that same look would PCGS likely give it the PL designation?
