Knowing more about a coin than anyone else in the room, resulting in a pick-up.

Beautiful coins, no matter their value.

    You nailed it! :)

1 thing I'd add for me personally, going to a coin show , makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop!

Finding and buying coins that have great eye appeal.

The availability of this forum and those posters who make worthwhile contributions. Also seeing great coins here.

The stimulus and camaraderie found by attending major shows.

The never ending learning that is a journey of discovery given by this hobby.

Seeing the look on a kid's face after giving him/her a free bonus coin.
Finally properly attributing something that has been a stumper (usually happens with an ancient but can also happen with VAMs on Morgans and Fuld numbers on CWTs)

Honestly I can't think of much better than the two you suggested, particularly as someone still relatively new.

    1) Holding the actual coin in my hand..
    2) Telling people that are not collectors facts about coin, seeing their reaction - letting them know them that I'm a geek. :D

Two things..... Hmmmm... My coins, and this forum. I used to really like coin shows, but have not been to any since I moved here fourteen years ago. No shows, shops or anything outside of antique shops with overpriced coins. Cheers, RickO
