Hi guys,
Yes sir ye bob! I, for one AM. lol Trying to decide what to sell and what to buy? I always look forward to this Coin show every year. The place, The Stephen's Center, in Rosemont, IL. Is so luxurious and fascinating. All glitzy. An array of bigtime dealers from all over the country and world. Many of various coin paraphernalia and coins, to choose from. Even certain books, supplies and whatever. Also, you can't forget the coin celebrity's. Last year I met the new PCGS President, Stephanie Sabin. Lol
Funny how we met. She first were appointed the new President. She was walking down the stairs to the entrance with her associates. Remember guys, we all were wearing our stupid masks. She wore hers too. While she was walking towards me, I said,
" Congratulations Stephanie on your new position."
She shouted, "Thanks, how in the world did you recognize me?"
:D
Come out guys to the show. I'm sure they'll be more surprises ahead. Hope to see ya guys there?
My goal.
To cherrypick, that's number 1!
Also, to sell and maybe find some old school slabbed coins. Ala, PCI or early PCGS holders?
Oh, can't forget the beautiful Libertads!
Have Fun.
:)

Yeah, that Tyrant Collection was the talk of the show last year.
    Brilliant!

Yes. Renewed my ANA membership so ready to attend. Looking forward to seeing a lot of coins and probably buying none. It is still worth the time.

I’ve thought about attending a large out of state (FL) show for years but just haven’t made it a priority yet. I generally go to Summer FUN and Winter FUN each year. It would be nice to make it to the ANA at some point. Maybe next year? I hope everyone has a good time.

Yes! I'm ready and excited for the ANA. I'll be there Mon-Wed at table 1828 as a helper for the LCS I work at. Will be my first time behind the table at a show. Something I always wanted to do since my first ANA show back in 2015. I'll be the young guy there wearing a black mask. Feel free to come say hi! :)

Have not got anything into gear yet. But that will take a day and a call to get a cab to the airport. I expect a good show. Looking forward to it.

    Me too.
I'm about 30 miles away. Hop, skip and a jump!
Even if it was double the distance. It still would be worth it.

I've put gold Indian collecting on hold for a little while. Currently I'm focusing on pre-Civil War gold, especially New Orleans $10 Eagles and some Charlotte and Dahlonega Half Eagles.

Looking at the current prices of $10 Indians I may put it on hold as well. Great choices and good luck with the branch mint gold. That's a really hot market right now.

It's so cool reading other people's reports as it's another perspective on the show. I've not checked out the SS Central America display or visited the US mint area so that is on my list to do today. Hopefully I might still be able to get an Air Force medal, not sure how many they brought to sell.

Out of the 140 W Quarters I had accumulated from my CRHunting.
Besides the graded ones and the ones I sold or gave away. I sifted through my best from the not so great conditioned ones. It came to keeping 45 to keep in my collection.
The rest, I took to yesterday's show and sold them all! About 30. I received, $220!
Not bad for ones in, AU - MS 63 grades.
    $220.
    Thanks

@joeykoins They are changing the quarters in the mint machine daily. Today was Dr. Sally Ride. Thanks for letting me know about that!

    Tomorrow, Friday.
    My 2nd Day.
I will visit the NGC grading Table, once again.
This time, I'm going to attempt to have my two identical "Strike Throughs" placed in a dual holder? Exact same areas! Same series, mint mark, same everything. I still can't believe I found these, only 2 months apart.

    Once from NGC
    Failed.

The final day was a success!
    Despite, the submission results.
Yes, some bad news for two of mine too.
Other than that. The Show was a whole lotta FUN!
Bought more items and sold more items.
I tell ya. Sure, selling your collection never is fully satisfying. However, when you use that cash, the profit included, is very breath taking sometimes. New stuff. Esp. when the NEW stuff is an item or two, that you never had in your collection.
Such is the case, from a couple of my recent purchases.
The most exciting part of the show for me was the fact that I received a FREE ANA Membership from a YouTube Giveaway!
I got a kick out of how easy it was to enter FREE, along with being able to submit my own coins without having to go to my dealer friend. Super easy and quick. Speaking of quick. The NGC submission straight from the show. Really paid off. Sure, it cost a little premium. But for the 2 day return?
    WOW!
A little different than the 3 to 4 month wait. And very safer too. No worries about the coins being lost or stolen.
What a Show! Can't wait until next year's.

That was the same thought I had about show grading. With NGC it was only a little more expensive per coin (and actually quite close since there is no shipping fees) but you get to be happy or sad much quicker! :D

    2= Bad! :#
    1= Pretty Cool! :)

    1939d Walker

I did not see this coming.

    1942d FB

Another, I did not see this coming, as well.

Maybe, because of a scratch appearance on her neck?

    1945d FB

This one, was my best one!

    Overall.
I'm still happy. Maybe, I'll crackout the Walker? Try at our Host's.
    Thank You, guys.

Were you successful in getting NGC to agree to do a dual holder? I tried last year to get them to help me, and was told they don’t do multicoin holders for collector club members (only dealers could submit for them). Seemed like they were hinting at the fact they were trying to phase them out.

    What grades were you expecting?

Well, the Walker, I was really expecting some straight grade? Any straight grade would have been sufficient.
Than the 1942d. I thought it may have matched the other Merc? 65 or 66?
I must have missed that scratch? If that was the reason for such a low grade?
That Walker really through me for a loop!
What color and beautiful tone it has.
    Oh well. It's all good.
    My first NGC submission.
    Thanks ;)

Thanks for all the Great pictures, almost like being there in person, sometime our greatest hopes on certain coins just turn out to be a learning experience, I know that I have had a "Few" myself this is how we learn. Great report Thanks again. Next year I think it will be in Pittsburg, Pa.

Thanks for your excellent show report with pictures.

It seems to me that you’re submitting coins that have very limited upside potential if they straight grade or grade where you think they will. We all collect differently so as long as you’re having fun that’s all that matters. What’s good for me may not be good for you.
