I can only begin to imagine the social media shrieks, howls of protest and demands for immediate "CANCELLATION" that would arise if famous athletes of today appeared in advertisements promoting smoking cigarettes, promoting smoking cigars and/or promoting vaping.
Of course if a famous athlete of today appeared in an advertisement promoting the smoking of "Mary Jane" that would be ok and praised as very progressive.
