I have a theory, but my other nickname is "mad man", so keep that in mind.
A lot of fast money (not "smart" or "dumb" money, but "fast" money) is out of securities and crypto' right now. They raised a lot of cash by going to the sidelines, but they cant sit still. They have to feed the addiction to the action.
I think we are seeing some of that money. It's showing up in the popular places ... the places more connected to social media. I think this is part of why GC is thriving. We had a good run. We got some notice. And now the fast money has come to play.
The problem is, fast money wants to move. It always wants to move. And the collector world is a much slower game then any of them are used too.
Keep you powder dry if the action feels frothy. It might be an interesting year ahead.

It is always interesting to try and guess what any market is doing; or about to do. On the other hand, the coins I collect are too esoteric. I don't just think, I know, the vast majority of people could care less. In the last year I have (in my mind) cherrypicked more than a dozen coins by variety. In some cases not one other person has bothered to even get their coin designated by NGC or PCGS. This means I have some pop 1 coins but the market is so thin nobody cares but me. On the other hand, I rarely have to pay much of a premium and I seriously doubt the flash investors are going to develop a hankering for the coins I love. Happy collecting all. James
