For a 67+ the jaw line damage that's not even helped by the gorgeous toning would also give me pause to bid and I would imagine the bidding will be high. Good luck whatever you decide.

My thinking (others will obviously think differently) is that
-Above CAC guide price and reasonably close to PCGS guide
-No exact recent auction results but given recent PR61 & 63 sales this seems like top of market
-It's a nice coin but I wouldn't define it as outstanding or special
-Lines on the obv are probably on the holder but taking a chance when buying from pictures
-I would be buying this for my registry set so the cost of re-holdering had to be taken into mind

I don't like going over CACs price guide. The fact that it's less than PCGS price guide tells me the grade is not desirable. A 62 is a 62. Personally I would have held out for a 63, only a $50 bump at PCGS and a bigger CAC price guide bump.
Have you looked into Gerry Fortin's SET REGISTRY? No need to go through reholdering.

I didn't end up winning the coin specifically because I didn't want to reach on price for a (in my mind) non-special coin.
I've bought from GFRC but not looked into his registry. However, given his website (great content, bad technology), I would probably not be interested. PCGS is far from perfect but their website and tech interface is fantastic and a real sticking point for me.
The idea of paying that kind of money for any 1945-S dime just makes no sense to me. The FB bit may make it "rare" in that grade but it is till just a common date Merc.

If you like it, make a bid.
Lovely coin, although the abrasions (gash?) on the jaw might give me pause for a 67+.

Nothing is as expensive as free money.
It's a nice looking dime.
It’s beautiful. The toning draws attention away from that hit on the jaw. I think it would have graded lower it not for the toning.

$900 with the juice on the Merc seems reasonable. Did you get it?
Tough night for me on dimes on GC. I got blown out last second on both of these...especially the capped bust.
The tarnish seems to conceal the marks on the jaw, unless magnified or viewed very closely in hand. Did you get the coin? Cheers, RickO
Yes I did get the Dime
Well to be clear I bid the highest and have yet to receive the invoice yet
Then I have to wait to receive the coin in the mai!
That’s a beautiful Mercury but I would have felt better if it had a little green sticker.
Interesting!
Sold for $704 plus postage. PCGS price guide says 38 @ $825; yet, CAC price guide says 3 @ $686
What was your thinking?
Congrats @PTVETTER , nice coin!

If it were me, I'd look for one with cat's eye toning for that date.
