64-D Quarter RPM-004?

Namvet69Namvet69 Posts: 9,098 ✭✭✭✭✭

Picked this up today, at the flea market. Has some nice points: long die break along the base of Georges neck, die cracks off the top of the N, and between OF. The mm is what got my attention and checked it on Variety Vista. What say you. Enjoy. Peace Roy

    Thanks @Paradisefound I'm using a Kindle HD10 so l can't drag and drop images.
@Abehunter I've done well at this market, lots of vendors who do clean outs, so a discerning eye and patience is key.

Hey! !!! Did you already check that specimen against details of Type C reverse?

  • Namvet69Namvet69 Posts: 9,098 ✭✭✭✭✭

@shortnock Hey, I did not. And yes it is a Type C rev with all 3 pups. Thanks for the guidance. Have a good afternoon. Peace Roy

Believe there are two different obverse die varieties to go with that Type C reverse.

MD absolutely..... There are few 64D RPMs but they are so miniscule you might not ever see them without some Magnification.

@Namvet69 A 1964-D Type C reverse quarter is a great cherrypick, especially Unc!

  • shortnockshortnock Posts: 425 ✭✭✭

Namvet69, Sorry, forgot where to find the source that describes the two different obverse pick up points. You have a plumb beautiful specimen. Recall that one variety has tiny die chip to lower right of 1, in the date. Different obverse varieties are probably not listed n Cherrypicker's.
