How are the 2021 Morgan and Peace Dollars holding up,,,,,,,

Is anyone having trouble with Milk Spotting on these?
Also how about the Commemorative Half & Dollar coins since the Mint went to .999 silver planchets instead of the old 90% silver composition?

ASEs were always .999 and they spotted, so I'm not sure why you'd expect the commems to be any different.
Now you've gone and jinxed them for everyone! Peace Roy

Does the same company supply all the planchets?
I have a Congratulations set ASE PR70DCAMFS with several milk spots.

Mine look okay for now.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
Mine look fine... but still early. Acetone bath may help to prevent the spotting. Cheers, RickO
The 2021’s don’t seem to be developing milk spots( those seem to only show up to proofs. Let me check my 2022 Morgan and Peace Dollar proofs..,……🤨🦫🙀

I acetoned all the ones I sent for grading myself so I hope that helps but I got shut out on the “O” & “CC” mint coins and had to buy those already slabbed so I am concerned about those.
Any ideas on what exactly causes the Milk Spots?
There has to be a wash or soome residue on the surfaces, and some corrosive element in the capsule when it gets sealed, right? Acetone would make sense. Silver is very reactive to the air around it, (silver used to be the reactive agent in photography). I'm probably saying things you already knew.
My only fear on my 2021 Peace dollar is milk spots, so far it's ok. At a full year I will feel pretty safe...

1 year is not enough time. I have seen Eagles spot 3 yrs or more after the fact, however that was before I started an acetone bath before grading.
It is common knowledge the spots are caused by an improper rinse when the planchets are manufactured. WHY don’t they fix the problem. The Canadian Mint seems to have done so.
Good to know. I just know that I bought a few slabbed early release coins in 2016, literally six months later they were covered in spots!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh Goldbully. Send it back. I’m sorry to see that. I assume it turned on you after whatever day was just 1 or 2 past the return policy.
Wow. I guess it’s an inexpensive replacement, considering. 🤨🙀🦫

Since it is a 70, I am guessing the spots showed up after slabbing?
if i am not mistaken, it seems like i remember someone(s) saying that some spotting doesn't necessarily prohibit the 70 grade at pcgs.
Not sure if it prohibits a 70 grade, but they do take spots in account at the time of grading.

does that mean hot potato or musical chairs?!?!
thanks for the quote.
