Wow... That seems a bit extreme. Not taking away from the firefighters, I remember that horrific fire well. Just seems the individual coins is a bit much. We have a lot of hero's.... How about individual Medal of Honor recipients? Now, a commemorative honoring the group would be nice. This country has many outstanding citizens, and many have died serving in various capacities. Issuing individual coins would not be logical. Cheers, RickO

i think it MAY be a contextual thing where they are calling for 120 commems to be made but not necessarily IN 2023 but just that they were suggested to start being made in the year 2023. maybe. although, with such runs, perhaps they are aiming for 10 per month for 12 months straight!

"Gosar’s bill seeks, in Proof and Uncirculated versions,
a gold $5 coin limited to 50,000 coins,
a silver dollar limited to a maximum of 400,000 coins, and
a copper-nickel clad half dollar limited to 750,000 coins.

The bill calls for 20 distinct designs, each to honor a different firefighter of the Granite Mountain Hotshots who fought the Yarnell Hill Fire on June 30, 2013, by including on one side the name and likeness of such firefighter. According to the legislation’s text, each design would have to be issued in each denomination in both Proof and Uncirculated versions, for a total of 120 different coins."

I would think with all the designing and minting of all these, that it will affect prices of future Comms. Just as it has affected all these bullion coins as of lately!

Not saying that this isn't significant enough to warrant a commem- it's certainly appropriate to do so in some form- but I don't see this being a good seller except mostly in the local area where they were known unless it's tied to perhaps a charity of some sort that would generate more widespread appeal. Am I wrong?

Isn't the over abundance of commems in the 30's to 50's the reason they stopped commems in the 50"s?? Why not have a similar proposal for everyone who died in the 911 attack, or at the Kansas City bombing, or whatever else one can think up? I think it is too much.
