I'm still keeping the US that speaks to me, but have been switching pretty steadily to the darker side of coins.
And I see no reason to stop.
Other than the pretty obvious thing that they are becoming harder and harder to find.
Nuff for now. Off to more searches.

I like what you have so far 😊
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.
Really like this one with Italy as the center of the solar system. crappy pic though.
Guess I should quit ....specializing... in ...uh... regional focus.
Agreed...Thanks for sharing
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
I like the lion-man!
You've got an eye for this!
Indeed the darkside can be addictive!

A newp just for fun and the helluvit.
Look at all the little gingerbread people all over the mountain.
Full coin mountain.
The '88 4E is magnificent.
Just added a horsie.
Yup!
@bigmarty58 He got kinda grumpy looking on his half crown.
He did indeed!
More horsies.
I have the pound and half pound also. Someday I should get them slabbed.
I agree.
My current "Box of 20"
OH yeah. Like the complexity of the European designs. For some reason, I gravitate to the Americas.
You might be grumpy too if you had lost your mind. Poor George suffered from porphyria and was pretty much out of it over last decade of his life.
Yes, the dark side can include some very beautiful coins, like this 1937 King George VI coronation gold set.
The coins are all slabbed. I created this view on my computer.

What are your grades? That's a gorgeous set.

That’s true
And you can tell from their portrayal!

Five Pound PCGS PR-64, CAM
The five pound piece is larger and heavier than a U.S. $20 gold.
Well sure. It's FIVE POUNDS !!!
They are a set of stunning coins well done.
This was FUN. Just got this newp.
When I first started collecting, it was in a small shop owned by Bob Auger with whom I became friends. Traveling to other shops and shows. He was very dedicated to foreign crowns and knew them extensively.
I of course started with a US type set and he had a great inventory of US coins.
But the thing that set him apart was his knowledge of foreign.
He had a Comoros crown and I admired it. Had the Waitaingi crown and the Gothic Victoria as well as I remember.
Now I too have the Comoros.
I have no idea why it has taken me this long to get one.
