    It looks like die deterioration doubling to me, which wouldn’t have any added value. Others here will correct me if I’m wrong.

    You got it right- aka: worn/overused die

    Virtually all doubling that you will see is not the result of a doubled die, but rather is due to Mechanical Doubling or die deterioration.

    I see tons of these being posted almost every other day on eBay. It is frustrating navigating through the b.s. just to find some worthwhile varieties for sale/bid

    Yep... Die deterioration/erosion.... Seen quite often here - and ebay - always someone hoping it is a DD.... Cheers, RickO
