Cowboy dollar

Well what do you think? I know it’s not a true cowboy dollar,
However it did belong to a true cowboy. It was given to me by my FIL who is a true cowboy. I took the picture as we (wife and kid) were getting ready to ride the ranch checking cows and fixing fence.
So is it a real cowboy dollar?

What is that coin mounted in? Is that a belt buckle?

Looks like part of a saddle.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
Yep, on the saddle horn. Looks cool!

... Cheers, RickO
@PerryHall it is a saddle horn. It actually has the brand in the leather below the dollar. That poor dollar has been beat up But has traveled a lot of back country. I’m sure that saddle horn has dallade off a few calves in its day. Not by mr though
