2022 Annual Sets Received

BJandTundraBJandTundra Posts: 388 ✭✭✭✭

I know these sets are not very popular, but having been burned in the 70's I get a couple of sets each year to keep up the series collections I started in the 50's. They arrived this morning, are in a different style packaging and seem to be well struck and relatively blemish free. Hope everyone who indulged in this set has similar luck.

Your post made me think of all the junk I’m buried in. The AI’s , ase’s, mint and proof sets.
This year I am just letting go of a bad habit made worse, by continuing to think of any value in collecting over produced, over priced “numismatic treasures “ from the mint.
    About half way there 😉🙀🦫

These sets are the only things I buy from the mint from the mint. Can't afford and have no interest in their other over priced, over hyped products.

I saw ATS that the quality was head over heels better. I'd also like to know if that is true for anyone else's set.

Weird. I went through a large number of sets and thought the Philly sets were the worst I've seen. The Denver sets were decent.

Also, the new packaging is extremely cheap with a larger than normal number of sets having coins that slid out of place and/or cardboard bends/creasing during shipment.

The sets I received were nice clean strikes and pleasing to the eye. Anyone looking for PL specimens will be disappointed I am sure.

I stopped buying these sets around 2010.... I have a large box with mint and proof sets I have not looked at in years. Same with the ASE's. I have purchased a few special sets and special ASE's since then, but stopped the subscriptions. Cheers, RickO
