Grading excersise, Morgan style, Obverse only, now with Reverse! UPDATED!

Ok, here's a grading excersise for you all. Grade this coin, from the obverse only.
Oh sure, you want more information. But realistically, the obverse seems to hold about 85% of the total grade. So....grade this one.
I'll ask you to grade the rest of it later. And then we can talk about it more....

VF-20. Nice circ color, but some marks are just in the wrong place.
Very high VF to very low XF. Probably 35. The missing eyebrow convinces me it can't go higher. Has some scratches and a rim ding that could push it to details if there are more than the photograph presents.
Looks about VF30

VF 30. Marks on the rims may indicate it was once in a bezel. Would probably straight grade. Not a coin I would purchase.
I’ll go with a straight grade 35.

VF-35 Cleaned
RPD 1 & 8? maybe all of them just can't see from this angle, straight grade 45.

Thanks for sharing
Does this change your opinion????
Apparently not
I would feel VF details due to damage.

79cc capped die, vf 30. Not sure if that’s a repair job b/t the E and D, but I think it’s ok, good luck.
Looks like a 35 to me... and the MM would not change my opinion.... Cheers, RickO
Still think it was lightly dipped and if not, would probably get an XF 40 since the 79CC obverses were kind of weak.
The close up have me think'n VF30
From the obverse I was going to say 35 or maybe 40, now the mint mark is really concerning. Actually If I was considering buying that from a picture only, the mint mark would cause me to pass.

VF35 or so. Looks like a capped die CC. Nice coin.

maybe vf35?
I still think it's a solid 35. The reverse strikes me as a tad better than that but the obverse get's the money.
I think it is close to a straight grade versus net. Obverse looks 30, reverse looks 40 to me. Possible damage to eagle’s left upper wing/viewer’s right and some minor rim bumps. I’ll go with VF details due to damage, but my straight grade guess would be 30.

Any update on this one?
The reverse can be confirmation of the obverse in terms of grade, it definitely carries some weight. On money grades I wouldn't push your luck, why should the graders bump the coin up unless it helps the grading service? Shot EF, what's going on with the mm overstrike?
"mm overstrike" is called a capped die. Major variety for this year.
It just hit grading. I expect an answer, mmmm...., say.....October? I'll hope for September tho!
Update? Good thread !
