For Grading: 1858 Flying Eagle Cent

Would this coin grade straight (notice the scratch on the obverse), and if so, what grade do you think it would get?
Thanks!

VF30 The scratch doesn’t look all that bad to me.

VF details, as scratch crosses face of obverse.

is it actually a scratch? kinda looks more scuffed or disturbed surfaces.
VF details, scratched... the scratch is in a prime focal area on the obverse of the coin. Too bad, otherwise a very pleasing example for the grade.

VF30, 50/50 on the scratch depending on the mood or which batch of graders you get.
VF30 details, scratched. Not worth slabbing but fine for a budget collection in an album.
VF details, obv scratched.
Nice coin for a type set though.

Even without the scratch I don’t think it’s worth spending money on slabbing.
The coin will always have that scratch. You will always know it is there. The longer you own it and the more discriminating you become...you will ask yourself....why did I buy that? And it will be harder to sell.
I say weak VF seems really worn. But with scratch across obv Pass. Would start on eBay auction at 9.95 as is, get rid of it.
Even for being so old it's a common collectible with that obverse scratch just a VF details coin. Not worth the grading.

I would grade it 30 and not worth submitting.... The scratch could go either way... Not too bad in the picture, but in hand might be more significant. Cheers, RickO
