Hatteras has a museum called Graveyard of the Atlantic.
After just finishing Priit Vesilind's book, Lost gold of the Republic, I was hoping that the museum might have an exhibit on the treasure ships Republic or the Central America. Unfortunately, no
They did have numerous exhibits of lost ships off the coast, with quite a few exhibits of the WWII German submarine activity off the NC coast.
Was finishing up the tour when I noticed a small coin exhibit in kind of an out of the way spot.
Nice little US and world coin collection.

I was just in the OBX two weeks ago. I took my kids to Corolla while I photographed the wild horses that live on the beaches. That place is amazing. We all loved it.

I didn’t know about the museum. Cool that you visited.

It would be interesting to see if there are mint marks on the Morgans.... Amazing how such coins all made it to the Outer Banks. Imagine what has NOT been found... Cheers, RickO
