I'll wait and get one for $30 in about 9 months after release.

I like the design but with silver at $20 I'm not thrilled with paying a 300% premium.

That is my thought, as well.

Why a saddle and no rider? What is it meant to symbolize? πŸ€”

The wild mustang throwing off the saddle symbolizes the free/independent spirit of America. It's a cool design. And the eagle on the back looks great. I have one in gold, and it is spectacular.

Nice design on the surface, but much of it doesn't make sense if you think about it too hard, and the sun is unnecessary.

As for the silver medals, the Mint has really screwed the pooch with handling the silver versions of these. There have been 4 high relief American Liberty gold coins -- this one, "Hold my Torch" Liberty (2015), Black Liberty (2017), and Stoned Liberty (2019). The silver versions always came out the following year, but they were never consistent with respect to the size and/or finish. The 2016 is a traditional 1 oz. proof, 2018 is available as a set of 1 oz. coins in assorted finishes, 2020 was a 2.5 oz. normal uncirculated finish, and now 2022 looks to be a 1 oz. normal finish. These should have all been done as 2.5 oz. medals, because the high relief design would really be impressive. I'm wondering if there were complaints after 2020 related to TPG holders needing to be large.

Hope all that get them enjoy them. It's a hobby, have fun with it. At $75 it's about the price of dinner out. At least this coin will stay with you longer.

I’m on the fence with this. I’ll have to see how my funds are at the time

    Many happy BST transactions

Is this medal available via enrollment?
I can't find a way to sign up if it is.

Also, does anyone know the issue price of the 1 oz Gold medal with this design?

    Thanks,

    GrandAm :)

No enrollments on this, it's a one time offering sidekick to the gold offered last year...which I missed out on. Congrats @Eldorado9 , these will look nice paired together. I'm in for one....the horse looks wild...his tail looks like fire.

Next year's Liberty Gold will have an airborne cowboy with his hat being carried off by an Eagle.

Darn!!! I was hoping for the cowboy to be carried off by the eagle.

The obverse design looks like a rodeo scene.

Design is okay but the clip-art sun spoils it.
