you win. i give. i did a lot of searching because what i THINK i see looks familiar and i thought for sure i'd find it. even with 1926, i still can't find it. LOL
feel free to answer or not based on how you want this to proceed. is that a big diagonal gouge through the front rays going up towards the rim OR is it the curled gouge in the rays close to the right side of the image, near the top hair? if not those 2, then i just have a few wild WAGs.
I believe that curled gouge is actually the letter B of Liberty
No idea how the date was guessed... I need to study the Peace dollars a bit more evidently. Cheers, RickO
It is because in 1926 the chief engraver redid the word “GOD” - and if you look at most 1926 peace dollars you can see the word GOD highlighted.
