Grade this circulated 1803 Large Cent

I'm thinking VG'ish- maybe FN12 (on a good day).
Your thoughts?

Not my series, but probably not too many awake right now…I can go with VG-ish.
I like it.
VG- Details
Fine details - environmental damage
I would go with the F12 details.... Cheers, RickO
Based on the pics I'd say VG10 details, corrosion. The color on the reverse may indicate an old cleaning too...

The pics aren't adequate to make a definitive decision on the surfaces, but grade-wise I think lock VG10, shot F12 if sent in- with a possible details modifier for the rim activity.

I think it would go F12. Possible details but I'd bet on a straight grade.

I was thinking VG10, but @Aotearoa has more expertise with DBCs than I do, so I’ll defer to his comments.
Even with the rim bruises/nicks? (Aside to OP- not ripping on the coin; I like the detail)
RIP Mom- 1932-2012
If they're PMD rim defects, I agree.
I have seen struck planchets with these issues get a straight grade.

True enough- I've seen pre-nicked planchets myself- but the rim at the T in LIBERTY, O in OF areas looks post mint- unless you're thinking a tiny clip?

Excellent observations. I'll see when it arrives.
(It is coming from France so it'll be a while before I get it.)

The way things have been moving of late, good luck...

I feel VG10, but then I'm not an expert on these to argue with those that are. As Greg said, I'll defer to those who are. I do feel it would grade even with the possibility of verdigris.

F Details, I think the rim bruises are PMD, it's a nice coin, looks original.

It’s my observation that a lot of leeway is often given to early copper. In the same breath, it’s also my observation that the degree of that leeway is not exactly consistent…

Thanks for the vote of confidence! Justified or not… Hopefully the OP will eventually provide us with some actual results.
