I found a 1982 small date copper penny today. I have found many small date zinc pennies and large date copper pennies. This is the first one I found that is small date copper.

Wonderful. Now look for the same type coin BUT minted in Denver.

While you are weighing cents, be sure to weigh 1983 cents in case you find one struck on a leftover bronze planchet.
Yes I have been weighing the 1983 ones as well. I know it is not the D mint mark but it still is a small date and bronze. so yay.
I also found a beautiful 1958 D wheat penny.

Yes you did in my opinion also

Hmmm 🤔
Wonder what I see 🧐
Also in-between IN()GOD()WE(),,,() representing marks of some kind, Liberty and date almost look doubled.
Lol is that a monkey on the chin 🤣
Thanks for sharing
@SlickCoins "Lol is that a monkey on the chin"
Seeing S's in another thread and now monkeys in this one.

Too much LSD!
Tell me you don't see this?

Rampant pareidolia... and perhaps chemical assistance. Cheers, RickO
Ikr
maybe like the evolution of man per science?

Thanks
Maybe, but can't really tell anything from blurry pictures.........

@SlickCoins
You got issues dude. Seriously
well I am not psychotic thank you very much with the Rampant Pareidolia comment, that is actually very insulting to say to someone you don't know. You do realize that Pareidolia is seeing things are not there, a visual hallucination, also seeing faces in everything and once was identified as psychosis. Also, I don't have any issues thank you and by the way I am not a DUDE... I am a woman, wife, and mother of three daughters, one of which has her masters in psychology. I also am not on LSD as per the comment made. I have read and appreciated the constructive comments made but those crossed the line.
@Jlefkowith143
The comments were not directed at you they were directed at SlickCoins.
It appears Slick's comments have been hidden from this thread and that is why you are not seeing it.
I have no idea why they would be hidden but because of that , I of course would think they were directed at me. I do appreciate the clarification because I was going to delete my account because of it. I can hear constructive comments, any of the comments up until this thread was fine and have learned quite a lot from them. So again thank you for the clarification, it is much appreciated.
"I have no idea why they would be hidden"
That member is in forum jail and all their disruptive comments have been hidden in all threads.

He was posting that he was seeing a monkey on the chin of your coin.
That's a nice 1958 D, I'd put that one in a holder to protect it.
I can see Slickcoins comments?

Well that was a short jail sentence.
well thank you for the info and appreciate you guys. I also appreciate you letting me know about the slikcoins comments.
I also made sure I put the 1958 D penny in a holder didn't touch it with my hands without the coin gloves on. I thought it was a good find.
Yeah really! My sentence was a full month 🤨😂🤣😎
You say you have found many small date zinc? This is the coin that really needs to be checked for a very rare doubled die reverse. It is VERY RARE. I’ve included a screenshot from varietyvista.com. Notice the doubling especially on E PLURIBUS UNUM.
BTW I don't see marks on all coins nice try
Also we all have our own opinions.
Thanks for sharing the coin
@SlickCoins "BTW I don't see marks on all coins nice try"
Yes you do.
"S marks galore" from another post.
"no mint mark" Small date CU 1982 have a very small percentage of the total 10 billion 82's made.
they represent about 4% of the total and that is why they are seldom found today after 40 years.
here is a page from Numismatic News about the 82's that the author wrote about them last year that

I did research on the 82's
Thanks for posting the Numismatic News article. In 1982, I received some loose 1982-D LD Zinc cents at my bank, just after reading about the varieties in Coin World or NN. So, I went back to the bank and picked up about 30 of those rolls.
I put them in plastic, and over the years due to the poor plating job many of these coins started to self-destruct. So, on a couple of occasions in the past 40 years, I culled out the bad coins and I still have a few good rolls of this variety.
Somewhere in my archives, I saved an article that did some similar estimates in 1983 or so. Based on the surveys in this new article, I don't think we're any closer to knowing the mintages than we were 40 years ago although I think the estimates are in roughly the same ballpark.
I knew it would happen.
Thank you for all the info. I will check all of my small date 1982 D zinc pennies and great info on the numismatic article. Such great information love it, Very much appreciated. Sorry for such a late response. I had to take apart my washing machine to fix it.
