Is this a strike through
Both look like PMD -- 1st is a dent/ding and 2nd looks like it got clamped between two pieces of metal, if both marks are incuse.

gotcha
All our damaged coins and are not errors, I’m sorry to say
Yep... Both coins are PMD... Cheers, RickO
Obvious PMD. I'd keep them as reference pieces. If you study the minting process you'll understand why a mint error could not look like that.
I'd also suggest taking some tools, etc. and smacking/cutting some coins. You'll learn quite a bit that way. You should be able to duplicate the damage you see here.
This one is not my coin, but is more like what you're looking for:

This one is my coin and is a 1796 Large Cent struck on a clipped planchet

Successful BST transactions with: SilverEagles92; Ahrensdad; Smitty; GregHansen; Lablade; Mercury10c; copperflopper; whatsup; KISHU1; scrapman1077, crispy, canadanz, smallchange, robkool, Mission16, ranshdow, ibzman350, Fallguy, Collectorcoins, SurfinxHI, jwitten, Walkerguy21D, dsessom.
Or an extreme example.

If you are interested in error coins you should buy a few books about them and learn about the minting process. This will make it much easier to determine what is genuinely an error or what has been man made. There are some tough errors to figure out even if you know the minting process. Knowledge is king.

And how is this done
Lamination?
I'm no error expert but the 1941 looks like a lamination flaw that is flaking off. The 1951-D looks like it may have been struck through...

Awesome coin! I love that it has a full date, IGWT and States of America!
Here's my favorite:
I'm not sure if this qualifies or not. I'm thinking planchet flaw or strike through. Could be PMD as well.
@Zoins I have a nice lamination on a cent also. It was in a Coin World article in 1981.

Wow! That's really amazing! Thanks for sharing it! Congrats
I need to start submitting some articles to Coin World
@Zoins

One of my favorites of all time is this clad layer detached after strike. I've never even seen another one.

Hi everyone. Happy 4th. I have a 1960 D Lincoln that looks like a brass planchet. Is that possible? Also have a 1961 Lincoln on a planchet that is about half thickness. There is mechanical damage to the reverse that did not distort the Lincoln Memorial or the obverse, so it isn't like penny on the train tracks thin. The diameter is correct. I still don't have photo posting permission so I can't upload yet.
Really nice coin! Do you have a copy of the article you can post?
@Oakstar I do not have one. I've been searching for Coin World from 4/17/81 so that I could have it. No luck yet. It was in the error section.

Perhaps Mike @Byers or @FredWeinberg would have a copy?
I like this one.
Yes, or maybe Mike Diamond or John Wexler. @gumby1234- do you remember who wrote the article?
"you show me yours and Ill show you mine."
I'm not fallin' for that again..... last time I went to jail.

Are Mike or John on the forums?
I at mentioned Mike and Fred, hoping they would see this and respond.
@Zoins No idea who wrote the article.
Wish i had kept the thousands of old Coin Worlds. But too much space taken up.

I don't know.
Coin World is on the Newman Numismatic Portal so it may be worth searching there. But unfortunately they don't show the entire article so it may be hard to use.
One thing I really like about Mint Error News is that all the articles are online and free so it's easy to find articles on coins years or decades later.
Don't do that!

@gumby1234 try this link.it appears to be an Archive of the old issues dating back

@Zoins I tried looking thru NNP but hard to navigate and they only show a page or two from the issue. I didn't locate what I was looking for. Even put a shout out for it on the BST with no results.

Unfortunate, I believe CoinWorld Digital (Weekly and Monthly) only goes back to 2013.

Not sure but could be.
Here’s a nifty error coin, and it happens to be a variety too. 1936 DDO Die #2 with a planchet lamination.

Here's another interesting cent error.
