@Crypto I'd appreciate your thoughts on this 1876.
edited to add: I'll try and take some pics of the coin in hand and post later.
Sorry been off the grid for a few weeks.
Really nice coin but not a proof 76 1/1 because it doesn’t have the die Diagnostics but is clearly a flashy UNC but that thickness of tone will often obscure mirrors and preclude the designation from the reputable TPG

As always I value your expertise on the Trade Dollar series.
This particular 1876 really has a PL appearance on the obverse, but not the reverse.
So I guess that means a coin can only get the PCGS PL designation if both sides are PL.

I've seen more than one 76 1/1 with very PL obverse, but very frosty reverse. This looks like another one of those. The not PL reverse will always hold it back from any PL designation. Still though...a PL reverse is pretty cool.
Just picked up my one non-chopped type piece for my US Design Set. As always, tough to image proofs but it's nice, hint of pink in the fields, sharp obverse devices. But it's not as nice as the PR66+ DCAM with rainbow rim toning I held today. That was probably the best looking coin I've ever seen. Still, very happy with mine!
